When we got to San Antonio, we snagged a hotel within walking distance of the Riverwalk and headed on down to scope things out.
After walking
and walking
and walking
and, you guessed it, walking some more....
We grabbed a bite to eat, found an awesome little shop where I eventually ended up buying dresses for Snappy and myself and hit up Ripley's and the wax museum.
Snappy was not happy about those last two stops.
She was totally freaked out. Except for when 0007 took her through this tunnel thin... Continue reading ...

I don't normally do this. But, being as this is sometimes a "Mommy Blog" (ugh. I hate that label.), I really wanted to share something with y'all.
The following is from my Giveaway page. It's a product that I really think every child should own and every parent will love. Check it out and if you'd like to enter to win one, head over to the giveaway.

want to do. Whether your child has only experienced missing y... Continue reading ...
So, Snappy will be four this summer and we have seriously not taken a vacay since she's been around. It was time. This year, since TRex is in school, Spring Break was actually a big deal so we decided to take a couple of days and get away. We live a little over an hour from San Antonio. For you non-Texans, that's where the Alamo is. They've got an amazing downtown area called The Riverwalk, tons of fun stuff to do and an utterly awesome zoo (that the kids had never been to). We set out on Fri... Continue reading ...
Whether you have children or not, whether they are in the Texas school system or not, you should care about their education, or lack thereof. We should all care. We should be outraged that our country's children aren't given more, our country's teachers aren't treated better, our country's education system isn't being nurtured the way it should be. Funding and teacher pay is a joke. Our kids are absolutely getting "left behind", forgotten about and pushed aside for other things. This doesn't ... Continue reading ...
The questions.... 1. Have you worn the same outfit more than one day in a row? 2. If you had to choose any LARGE city to live in, which would it be? 3. Fly or drive with the kids on vacation? 4. What is your idea of "spring cleaning"? 5. What is the best book you have ever read?
1. Have you worn the same outfit more than one day in a row?
The school project got finished. Two days before it needed to be!
We may be a family of procrastinators but, when it comes to holidays and gift giving, we have a hard time waiting for the actual day. So, VDay has come early around here. 0007 got his gifts Friday and he showered us with gifts today.
Yes, he totally took my breath away this year. I was so not expecting what he got me. For years I have happily worn my beautiful wedding ring. I've loved it and still do. He ... Continue reading ...
I let Snappy learn how to play computer games. She loves it. And she's good at it. And the little turd will probably need her own computer soon or I'll never get any work done again.
Not that I've minded so much the last few days. I mean, if she's on my computer it does give me ample time to continue watching Bones, my newest tv show find and obsession. But, truly, the kid is awful at sharing!
My second mistake was letting her realize that my new phone has games ... Continue reading ...

My blogging seems to have fallen low on my to-do list lately. I'm certainly busy but, it's not very exciting stuff. Not boring...just...mundane. It's cleaning and working and rearing unruly children and fretting over the weather. None of which make for exciting blog entries. I hate that I've pawned off so many photo posts as real blog posts but, I'm hoping y'all are enjoying the pics.
We're supposed to have snow here tonight and tomorrow. In South Texas. It hasn't snowed here since TRex's fir... Continue reading ...
There's no school next Monday. I've been reminding myself every day. I'll probably put sticky notes throughout the house this weekend.
Are my dogs like my kids or are my kids like my dogs because they all seem to enjoy tearing stuff up. My yard looks like a disaster zone. Gave the dogs an old comforter since it's been cold recently. Shit heads tore it open and pulled out most of the stuffing. Smart move, dogs! I'm sure the random pieces of stuffing throughout the yard will keep you quite warm... Continue reading ...
Monday. Blah. They used to not bother me. When I was a stay at home mom of two kids and had no real schedule, Mondays only meant that 0007 had to return to work. Now that one of those kids is in school, it means that I have to do one of the things I hate the most.
Get.up.early.

So, after 2 weeks off of school, two weeks of sleeping in, two weeks of bickering between the kids all day long, the first Monday of 2011 arrived and I was reluctant to get up but, glad to get ... Continue reading ...

Holiday Posts
Sorry for the sporadic posting lately. With Christmas t-minus 2 days and counting, relatives in from out of state (yay!), TRex out of school, etc; I've been decking the halls, hugging my loved ones, rockin' around the Christmas tree and all the rest of it.
Hopefully, once the holiday is over and things start to return to some kind of semblance of normalcy, I'll be back to only my normal procrastinating on blog posts.
We've all had to deal with negative forces in our lives. I suppose that, how we deal with these things shows our true character. For a long time, I allowed the negativity to get me down. Misery definitely loves company but, negativity craves it. Joining the forces of negativity and allowing it to take over is sometimes hard to fight. It's an important fight though.
Some people will never be happy for others. Some people will never have a positive word to say and will always revel in the downf... Continue reading ...

Things have been crazy busy around here for the last couple of months.
Our photography business has kind of blown up and we've been busy with that. The holidays hit and all the insanity around decorating and cooking and card mailing and gift wrapping and all has engulfed our house. TRex seems to have homework (in Kindergarten!) every day. Snappy is a constant source of humor and a whirlwind of activity. 0007 just started a new job. It's insanity. It's all good but, still insane!
So, Facebook has a new app that puts together your status updates from the whole year.
It was fun to look back and see what I had deemed "status worthy" throughout the year. Proud of the low number of complaints, high number of movie quotes, several more insightful items and a whole lot of "from the mouths of my children" funniness (uh, sure, it's a word).
This is pretty small and you can't really see it so, I wanted to share some of my faves here.
I've been blogging for a while now. Gosh, has it been two years? Longer? Wow.
Anyway, in that time, I've reviewed a LOT of products. Some from tiny business and some from big companies. I have always been 100% honest in my reviews and have always stayed positive about the product. There have been very few things that I've been disappointed with from the beginning and those companies were told up front that the review, were it to run, would be less than favorable. Every positive review I've ev... Continue reading ...

Are you beginning to see a theme here with these titles?
Heck yeah, I'm in the Christmas spirit! Even though I'm insanely busy (yeah, that ol' gripe again) and feel like my head's going to spin off and the kids are going to give me a stroke and I'll never sleep again...aside from that stuff...I'm totally in the Christmas spirit!
I really love Christmas.
I love the magic of it.
I love Santa and the reindeer and little one's wishing for zillions of toys.

It's great, really. Our photography business has started to really take off and we've been booked a lot lately. It means a ton more work for me but, I'm loving it.

Even after my editing rant last week (yes, Scott, that can be considered a "rant"), it seems that I've been awarded one of those sweet little blog awards that float around the blogosphere. And, since this one is called "One Lovely Blog", I'll be on my best behavior here as I accept. Thanks to Mom-Stuff Community for thinkin' of me!

Disclaimer: This may or may not be a picture overload post.
I hope everyone had an awesome time this weekend! Lots of parties and ghoulish fun, I suppose?
Ours rocked.
0007's brother throws a Halloween party every year and, I swear, every year it gets better. It's uber kid-friendly but, a blast for us adults as well. Our kids love it because, on top of the costumes and candy and junk food as far as the eye can see, they get to hang out with their cousins and their other friends. We love it be... Friday was a fun day of shopping out of town. TRex's Halloween costume was found so he's happy and it was super cheap to find the pieces we needed so I'm happy! We've got a big job to live up to how flippin' sah-weet his Halloween costume was last year. I hav... Continue reading ...

I had a photo shoot the other day with an adorable family. I so love outdoor shoots.
I've been playing with textures in my editing and I'm loving them. For me, photography is art. I love the editing process because it's such a big part of creating that art. The textures are so fun. I'm addicted. I love how they can be super subtle or a major part of the picture.
If you use textures in your editing, leave me a link so I can see!
I did a giveaway earlier this summer for a product called Flings Bins. We used these really cool pop up trashcans when we had my kids' birthday party and they are seriously awesome. They are trashcan shaped trashbags that pop open and stand up like a trashcan but, when they are full, they cinch together at the top like regular trashbags and you just throw the whole thing away. They have different designs on them and they even have one for recyclables and the bin itself is recyclable. Very coo... Continue reading ...

5 Question Friday
This morning, I was more of a teenager than a mom.
Yep, I overslept.
Woke up two minutes before I usually take TRex to school.
0007 is having an allergy attack so, he wasn't up getting ready for work. I got up, got TRex up and got us both ready in 20 minutes.

Update: I'm almost done with my home makeover!
Lemme explain.
The actual kitchen has been done for a few days. The thing is, one of the big parts of the renovation opened the room up a lot and made my kitchen, living room and dining room much more of one big room. I couldn't do the kitchen and stop there! The whole area had to be painted!
That's one reason it's taking so long.
Another reason is way more fun for you all. I'm working with one more sponsor for the giveaway part of the reveal. Woo... Continue reading ...

Phew. This week kinda flew by, eh? Snappy's bday Monday was capped off with ice cream and grandparents (and a few gifts we had managed to hold on to). She had a great time. I don't think she was expecting the little celebration because we had already had the party. In true Snappy form, when she was handed the first present to open she said, "Wait. Get the camera." So, because I like to pass along some great info to enable the drinking of others.
And because I like anything that salutes our awesome military personnel.
Wow. So, I didn't really realize that it was Friday until just a few minutes ago. This week went by supah fast!
First, I'd like to pat myself on the back because after totally losing my shit during the storms last week, I remained cool-calm-collected (or crazy-sexy-cool for you TLC fans) during the thunderstorms we had yesterday and last night. Yay me! Yes, I am congratulating myself on being "normal" and not freaking out when it's raining.
Wow. I haven't done a Wordless Wednesday post in a reallllly long time. I'm not sure I really can do something "wordless".
That's my dad, my kids and my nephew on Father's Day this year. They were all hanging in the hammock and I just love the series of pics I got. Seeing mine and 0007's parents glow in grandparent roles makes me so happy. My grandparents mean so much to me and I love seeing my kids gain those relationships with their grandparents.
I'm being such a procrastinating, lazy arse today. Seriously, I am forcing myself to do this post and cannot pressure myself enough to vlog it. My procrastination has compromised into the form of a written blog post.
Good news is that I didn't blow to Oz. The weather is still crummy and I'm still ever so slightly on edge but, the worst seems to have passed and I'm hoping that was the last hurricane in history. titled: What Is That Smell? or My Son is a Nutso or A Glimpse at the Ridiculously Unglamorous Side of My Life
As a parent, one can often find oneself saying things and/or doing things that you would never have fathomed you'd ever do or say. It's impossible to grasp the severity of how gross things can get or how unbelievably insane a child can be at times.
It's not always a smooth ride, this parenting stuff.

Our weekend started with a visit from my nephew. My brother and sister-in-law went to see Iron Maiden on Friday night and we got to keep this super cutie...
The cutie went home and we all donned our swimsuits and headed to a birthday pool party. 0007's cousin's son turned one and the party was a blast.
TRex is really becoming quite the little fish.
It's a hard job to kick back by the pool but, somebody's gotta do it.
So, there was a thread started over in the BlogFrog community that I obsessively post in frequent getting us to post some pics of ourselves from a long time ago. Love the idea and the pics being posted are awesomely hilarious. Who doesn't love a good horrendous pic from decades ago?!
I was having such fun that I figured I'd share a few with y'all.

Music has had such a profound influence in my life. I love how I can hear a song and be transported to another time, be flooded with memories, almost be able to make out the smells of the memories. For someone with a memory as bad as mine, music that can trigger those things are pure gold. I'd love to sit down one day and make out a "Soundtrack of My Life". What fun that would be but, oh what an undertaking.
And so, because I like to reminisce, talk about music and challenge others....
No matter what one's political affiliation may be or what your personal stance is on the wars our country finds itself in, my wish is that all Americans, regardless of race, gender, religion can remember every single day that our freedom is not free. It comes with a price that not all of us must pay.
There are certain people that rise up and say, "I will pay this price for you. I will put my life on the line for you and for what is right." They do it so that we don't have to. They do it, not ... Continue reading ...

Recipes
I think that one of the best compliments when it comes to cooking is for people to be so full at the end of the meal that they just want to change into sweats and take a nap. If 0007 is so busy stuffing his face that he can't comment on the meal, I know I did good.
I've been asked to share some of my recipes. I can do that.
But, we'll need to start with a few disclaimers.

Happy Friday to y'all!
I just realized, as I'm watching tv while posting this, that I feel smarter when I watch Jeopardy than I do when I watch Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader.
There's your random fact about me for the day.
And here's your vlog from me for the day!
Make sure you head over to Mama M's bliggity blog and check out 5 Question Friday every week!
My friend Janae has started a beautiful project, called In My Daughter's Eyes. As part of the project she has been asking women to write a letter to the 12 year old version of themselves. As soon as I saw it, I loved the idea. Oh, what I would tell that little girl! I've procrastinated and thought on this for a while and finally am joining in. I urge all my readers to join Janae and her beautiful project.

I know I don't get serious here very often. I've got some stuff I need to write about and if you'll bear with me, we'll get back to regularly scheduled light-heartedness soon!
Mother's Day is hard for me.
My biological mother is a homeless drug addict and I haven't talked to the "normal" her since Mother's Day 2007. It's so weird to just lay it out there like that. It makes it more surreal.

My sweet friend, Mama M, is having a little shindig this week called Mother's Day Mania. For the rest of the week, over at My Little Life, it's all about Motherhood and celebrating the good, the bad and the sometimes ugly (you know, greasy hair, three day old mascara, undereye luggage and the rest of it!)
Today's theme is "Whoopsie Wednesday" where we...er...um...celebrate the "whoopsie" moments of Motherhood.

I woke up and 0007 was still home, leading me to think that maybe he didn't have to go to work. As much as I knew he needed to work, being sick all week had worn me down and made me somewhat selfish and I wanted him home.

So, I got upset. He got upset back. We were both upset.

5 Question Friday
Hey y'all!
I feel a bit better today but, alas, there is no vlog here. I'm not feeling that much better! Maybe in a few days!
Let's all send a little "feel better" energy my way though because, man, we have got one busy weekend ahead of us. Keeping my fingers crossed that my week of SVU watchin', chaise loungin', gallons of water drinkin', trying to rest will pay off and I'll be tip top for the multitude of birthday parties ahead of us this weekend.

The other day, I had quite a nice pick me up when Lori over at Lori's LOLz presented me with a really cool award.

I was looking back through some old posts and realized that I start almost every single post with "Hey y'all". I also realized that all of my vlogs start the same way.
But, I guess that's me. It's natural. So, I'll go with it.
Hey y'all!
Every Sunday, the super fly Keely over at MannLand5 hosts a kickin' meme called "Getting to Know You".
I mentioned to Keely that I might vlog it this weekend.

Hey y'all!
Everyone excited about the weekend?
I'm really hoping that the weather this weekend is exactly like it is right now. Ohmygosh, it's gorgeous outside! I just love these pre-Summer Texas days! We are sooooo heading outside as soon as I post this!

We really have about a week of "Spring" here before it starts turning into Summer. It's not that hot just yet and I'm totally loving it. Hot enough for shorts and tanks but, not so hot that your skin feels like it's melting...yet.
But, definitely hot enough to yell "Close that door!" anytime someone opens it.

You know, I spend a lot of time wondering ways that I can go "green", wondering if I'm "green enough" and if the products that I use for my family (from toys and clothes to food and cleaning supplies) are more harmful than helpful. It's important to me to teach my kids by showing them and I truly feel they can gain a sense of caring about our earth and the products that we use if they simply see me caring and hear me talking about those things.

After a whirlwind of breakfast and dressing (neither of which she gets to do for herself), an embarrassment at the hands of the got-it-all-together mom and sending the family off to their day, she sits down with a few minutes to blog.

Sighs of relief. I was convinced that the power would go out, the tv would go out, something would interrupt the night of tv that I had waited for so long to watch.
Sighs of brief understanding.
Sighs of frustration and total incomprehension as the new season of Lost got underway and showed viewers that we know nothing!
I'm not sure where to even begin. I'll premise this by saying that I have no clue what will happen. I may make some guesses and pose some ... Continue reading ...

**First, let me say that if you don't understand the title of this post then I demand you go out and rent (or totally just buy) The Princess Bride.
I was going to do another post about Lost, what with it being D-Day and all. Then I thought about my dear readers who maybe are not counting down the actual minutes to the show tonight. With that and the thought of all the Lost posts that will inevitably appear once the show starts, I got the ol' noodle crankin' and am going to take a crack at som... Continue reading ...
Monday again? Seems like we just had one of these last week.
So, I am not being showcased today on the blog of the Mom-Stuff Community.
How crazy is that?
No. I mean it.

You

Hello, My name is Robin

Music has always had such a strong influence on my life. There are songs that take me to a time in my life and can remind me of the immense happiness or the unbelievable sadness of that time. When I think back on my high school days, one band that was always in constant rotation in my playlists, was there with me through good and bad times, always made me sing at the top of my lungs and still makes me happy is the band Everclear. I love every one of their albums. Hubby and I still rock their ... Continue reading ...

Favorite Things
In the spirit of "getting to know me", I'm going to do a few posts with some of my favorite things. So, without further adieu (and because I am too tired to even pretend to be witty), here we go.
Fave pic of TRex and Snappy.
I love this pic. Hubby took it. He is sweet enough to let me sleep in sometimes and get up with the kids on Sunday morning and do breakfast. If it's nice out they love to have breakfast "al fresco". This pic makes me smile because a)I was still asleep during this moment b)... Continue reading ...

Well, we had a nice little Sunday. The sky was clear. The wind was calmer. The temps were warmer. It felt like a normal Texas winter! The kids got some much needed outdoor play and sun. Hubby got some much needed downtime from work. I got some time with a friend and then got to come home and snap pics of all this craziness and fun. It was a nice day!
I think this may be one of my fave pics of TRex evah!

Today's questions are...
1. Hair color...Au naturale...or not? Not. Not since 1992. I've been most colors. Even had a crazy time when I dyed it black. Mostly it's some shade of red. These days it doesn't get dyed often so it's a wonderful mix of years of different colors and some of my natural mousey color coming in. Oh, and don't forget the gray/white peek... 5 Question Friday

If you want to participate in 5 Question Friday, head over to My Little Life and link up with Mama M.!
Today's Questions:

1. What's your "comfort food"? I don't know that I have just one. Probably chips and dip. I actually had to quit buying tortilla chips. I'd go through a bag in two or three days just snacking. Best dip? Cream cheese and salsa with a little taco seasoning. Yum-o!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
While cleaning a friend's house last week someone was attacked by a cat. A super sweet, cat loving, good friend was attacked by a demon cat. While minding her own business, putting Christmas present sheets on her friend's bed, this dear girl was attacked by an old-aged watchdog cat.

I lived in fear for over 15 years of my life. It wasn't abuse or even a
tangible object that held me captive. I struggled with anxiety and
panic disorder for over a decade and it ruled my life.
I
remember my first panic attack. I was 7. At that age it's not likely
you know what's going on and it's impossible to explain it. I remember
trying desperately to tell my confused father what I was experiencing.
I would feel that frustration for a very long time.

I'm thankful for my husband. He is my rock. He is my soul mate. He has taught me to be thankful for everything, even in the bad times because the bad times will always turn good again. I love this man.
I'm thankful for my children. Snappy's sweet face and snuggles.

Saturday night hubby and I got to go out on date night. It's been so long that we'd seriously forgotten what it was like to go somewhere without the kids! Quitting Smoking
So, I think today might be the last day of smoking for hubby and me. I'm not doing any fruity backflips over this. I've been smoking for almost 15 years. I know. That is really terrible. The only times I have stopped were when I was healing after appendicitis and during my two pregnancies. Running a business can present certain challenges at times. It's nice to know there are people out there that have your back.
A couple of days ago I had a situation where a supplier couldn't fill an order. It was frustrating and I frantically searched for a way to make sure that my customer got what they needed and received my highest level of customer service. The situation called for me to take action and be professional where my supplier had failed to be.
We had some pumpkin carving at the house last night. Well, the kids had some pumpkin cleaning, the hubs had some carving and I had a few minutes peace! LOL
The cleaning out of the pumpkin is something that TRex looks forward to all year. He's such a boy.
Snappy wanted a little of that action. But, after a moment, she wasn't too interested.
Hubby had a great time carving the pumpkin and probably enjoyed the peace and quiet he got once the kids lost interest!

Mommy's Organized Chaos - A Guide to Putting Away Leftovers
When you are an Organized Chaotic Mommy you don't just go to do one task, complete it and walk away. Any OCM worth her stuff knows that there will be five million other things to do during the simple task at hand. The trick is to flow through them seamlessly, with ease, effortlessly...yeah right.
1. Go to the kitchen to get a drink. 2. See leftovers sitting on stove and think "I should put those up now. Dinner was hours ago." 3. Open the... Continue reading ...

Not Me Monday
This blog carnival was created by MckMama. Check out her blog to see what everyone else has not been doing.
We had a wonderful weekend! Though the kids' birthdays are only a couple of weeks apart, we decided that this was the last year to do a joint party. TRex will be old enough next year to do something fun and on his own. So, we seized the chance, especially after having just moved, to combine the parties into one. It was a lot of fun. I did notget so busy that I forgot to take pics. My hu... Continue reading ...

Other Stuff
I really like things that you can play with on the internet. I call them my procrastination tools. Facebook is a really good one because of all the mini procrastination tools like games and quizzes. You know you love them!
I have a new one! The Bath and Body Works "Fragrance Mood" widget is so much fun! You pick the icons and characteristics that describe you and drag them into the empty perfume bottle. Then it picks the scent for you and offers you a bunch of suggestions from their store. Yo... Continue reading ...

Wordless Wednesday
WORDLESS AND WORDFUL WEDNESDAY
Snappy and TRex absolutely love to slide on the kitchen floor. I remember liking that when I was a kid too. Luckily, their dad likes this game too. Equipped with pillows, they all hit the floor last night.
Superheroes sliding on the floor. Doesn't get better than that! Love me some Spider-TRex!
What was that?
Why yes. That is my daughter that absolutely insisted on wearing her brother's IronMan pajamas.

Not Me Monday
This blog carnival was started by MckMama. Check out her blog for more Not Me Monday fun!
So, how was our weekend? Well, it was quiet. It was uneventful. It was relaxing. It was filled with the noises of brother and sister loving each other and playing peacefully. NOT!
I certainly did not have to tell the kids one zillion times to stop fighting. I did not almost lose my mind from the constant screaming. TRex has not become quite annoyed with Snappy. Snappy has not decided that everything must ... Continue reading ...
I love photography. I love taking pictures. I love photoshopping. I love looking at pictures. I love really good photography and can appreciate all of it. It's in my blood, I suppose. My parents own a very successful photography studio and my mom's been taking pics for as long as I can remember. My husband has his photography business and I love to work with him and do my part. I absolutely adore scouring the web for really cool photographers. There are some extremely talented people out ther... Continue reading ...
I cannot believe that 5 years ago today this wonderful person entered our lives. Our TRex has filled our days with laughter and joy. His crazy antics are a constant source of amazement and entertainment. From day one he has shown his persistence and determination. We are better people, better parents with him in our lives. I am forever thankful to be able to be the mom of this little boy.

Things goin on
Well, the Uhaul will be here this evening.
Things are a little crazy.
The house is a wreck.
The kids are insane.
I've lost most control of cleaning and regulating what's going on.
A few days of relaxed rules never hurt, right? I've got so much to do. Seriously, I'm looking around and thinking it's never going to be done. I'm to the point of just throwing random crap into boxes with the intention of sorting it out upon unpacking. My nice organized packing lasted all of a few hours! How does on... Continue reading ...

My TRex did NOT prove once again that boxes are often more fun than the toys that came in them.
Snappy certainly did NOT fall asleep in her Snoogie Seat this afternoon because someone (not me) forgot naptime.

As much as I'd love to get deep and wax philosophical on the beginnings of America and patriotic duties...I'd like more to just remind everyone that no matter your political affiliations, religious convictions, social status or lack of those...remember who is responsible for you to be FREE to have those beliefs, opinions and labels. Yes, the men who wrote the Declaration of Independence should be remembered, but I'm talking about the men and women who still to this day fight for our freedoms.... Continue reading ...
"This town needs an enema!" is what TRex blurted out a few hours ago. He even followed it with the miming and sound effects of blowing a party horn. I laughed my butt off. Yes, my son is almost 5 and he quotes Jack Nicholson.
It has occurred to me that I'm probably going to be talking about my kids a lot. I try to not be "one of those parents". You know, the ones who put their kids on the phone with you even when they are 5 months old and you have to sit there while your friend baby talks in the background and pretend that you don't have a million other things to be doing. Ok, so I'm not THAT bad. My kids are pretty funny and very crazy. I like to share their randomness and pop a few cute pics in there from time t... Continue reading ...

"GHARBLY*%(#&FLMUPS" Those parents out there know what that means! Those words you mutter to yourself through clenched teeth after being asked the same question for the umpteenth time or after cleaning up yet another wet spot on the floor (does it even matter any more if it is juice or dog pee?)
I really do not believe any parent that claims not to have those moments of blind rage. Either they have never met their child or their child is a robot programmed to not be annoying. I also know that ... Continue reading ...
We nixed our cable bill a long time ago. For a few years we've been living in the stone age of rabbit ears. Once the converter boxes hit shelves our lives got exciting with the addition of a couple more channels and clearer reception. It was plenty for us. We always got the major networks and PBS so we were perfectly happy.
Let me tell ya... I can't believe it took us so long to discover Netflix Watch Instantly! I wouldn't bat an eye if the rabbit ears disintegrated!
So, The Mom Jen over at Cheaper Than Therapy started this. I found it on one of my fave blogs, Two of a Kind, Working on a Full House. The premise is simple. "to post a picture that is powerful, that expresses emotion, and speaks volumes to me." We have so many pics that I love to share so I know this will be easy and fun!
Here's my first "Thousand Words" pic...

So, I've been off the grid for about a week, dealing with some family stuff. I'm ba-ack! So glad to be back at home and back to work! Man have I got a lot to do!!

In lieu of my new "Not Me Monday" I'd like to take a moment to say Happy Memorial Day."
Years ago when I visited the island of Oahu I had the unbelievable opportunity to be there on Memorial Day. I was able to visit "Punchbowl Cemetery". Here's a little info on it...
It was built in 1948 in the crater of a volcano. This gives it the appearance of a "punchbowl". On September 2nd, 1949 the dedication ceremony took place
for the Memorial site. Some of the first people to be buried there were

So, I've been really getting into redoing old things that I find. Furniture and whatnot. I'm pretty much a tightwad thanks to some very good training by my hubby and am finding I love the thrill I get when I find something cheap! Recently, I recovered some old kid's chairs and am so super thrilled with the result!
Well, to begin with, Market Days was kind of a flump. (word from the Lukus dictionary) I sent out positive vibes all week long hoping that the weathermen would be wrong about the rain.
