Bro's Grafix pics and a bit of a rant

Posted by Robin . on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, In : Photography
Quick note: Today (10/27) is the last day of the Home Makeover Giveaway!

So, I mentioned that last weekend I had a photo shoot at an engagement party for our photography business that 0007 and I have recently started, Bro's Grafix. It was really nice. Lots of people that I peripherally know through 0007 (his hometown peeps) and they were all fantastic. Gorgeous couple (seriously, their children will be beautiful!) and some adorable kids to snap pics of. Slightly challenging since the majority...

Jane! Stop this thing!

Posted by Robin . on Monday, October 25, 2010,
Seriously? The weekend is over? Crap. This ride is too fast!

Once again, our weekend was a whirlwind and it's always over way too fast. (That's what she said.) I swear, the more I think I'm getting done, the more it seems there is to do.

Friday was a fun day of shopping out of town. TRex's Halloween costume was found so he's happy and it was super cheap to find the pieces we needed so I'm happy! We've got a big job to live up to how flippin' sah-weet his Halloween costume was last year. I hav...

Editing with Textures

Posted by Robin . on Tuesday, October 19, 2010, In : Photography
I had a photo shoot the other day with an adorable family. I so love outdoor shoots.

I've been playing with textures in my editing and I'm loving them. For me, photography is art. I love the editing process because it's such a big part of creating that art. The textures are so fun. I'm addicted. I love how they can be super subtle or a major part of the picture.

If you use textures in your editing, leave me a link so I can see!

Get your FREE on!

I did a giveaway earlier this summer for a product called Flings Bins. We used these really cool pop up trashcans when we had my kids' birthday party and they are seriously awesome. They are trashcan shaped trashbags that pop open and stand up like a trashcan but, when they are full, they cinch together at the top like regular trashbags and you just throw the whole thing away. They have different designs on them and they even have one for recyclables and the bin itself is recyclable. Very coo...

Kitchen Makeover Extravaganza!

Posted by Robin . on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, In : DIY
Guess what!

I'm done with my kitchen makeover!

Oh sure, I still need to find a new lighting fixture, paint the ceiling fan, figure out what I'm doing with the sink and fridge...

for all intents and purposes, I'm finished!

I know you're all just foaming at the mouths to see this. Hang on just a sec.

First, I want to thank all the amazing companies that helped me out with this. Giani Granite, Ecos Paint, Plow & Hearth, Mythic Paint and Decal Delight have truly made this experience go smoother an...

Have I mentioned?

I love free stuff.

I'm a scavenger for sure. I don't mind cheap stuff and love me a good thrift store or garage sale but, there's just no beating free stuff!

I was on my way to a photo shoot yesterday and I passed a house that had obviously had a garage sale and was not wanting to keep any of the leftovers. It was all sitting out by the curb waiting for the garbage pickup. So, being the resourceful woman that I am, I snagged this little bookshelf.

Because I love free stuff.

5QF - I'm still a teenager sometimes

Posted by Robin . on Friday, October 1, 2010, In : 5 Question Friday
This morning, I was more of a teenager than a mom.

Yep, I overslept.

Woke up two minutes before I usually take TRex to school.

0007 is having an allergy attack so, he wasn't up getting ready for work. I got up, got TRex up and got us both ready in 20 minutes.

The crap thing is that every morning I get up and get dressed and do my makeup and get all the way ready just to go drop him off. I don't have to do any of that stuff on those mornings that I have time to do it. But, today I knew I would...
