When my son was very young, one of his favorite cartoons that I always just adored was Max and Ruby. I honestly had no idea at the time that this adorable show is actually based on some darn cute books by treasured author, Rosemary Wells.
In 1973, Rosemary Wells published "Noisy Nora", about a sweet mouse looking for attention in a big family. In her more than 40 year career, Wells has given children more than 120 books and filled their imaginations with characters like Nora, Max and Ruby. Scholastic Storybook Treasures has recently taken some of the beloved stories and transformed them as only Scholastic can.
On August 3rd, Scholastic introduced 2 new DVDs in their Storybook Treasures library with The Rosemary Wells Collection. Featuring 8 of Wells' best-loved stories, Scholastic's enhanced read-along and comprehension questions, these DVDs are a perfect addition to the Storybook Treasures already amazing list of DVDs. The DVDs also contain Spanish versions of Noisy Nora and Max's Christmas, as well as interviews with Rosemary Wells and a music video.
My kids absolutely love these new DVDs but, my daughter is slightly fanatical about them. Noisy Nora is usually her movie of choice for bedtime and it makes me happy that she's picking something so wholesome and gaining knowledge of reading and reading comprehension without even realizing she is being taught. She absolutely loves Emily's First 100 Days of School, a story on the Noisy Nora disc.
For me and my kids, it just doesn't get any better than what Scholastic Storybook Treasures can offer in terms of animate stories that they can both enjoy and cherish for years to come. These are stories that I read as a child and my children can experience in a whole new way. Every DVD in the Scholastic Storybook Treasures collection is brilliant and perfect for children of so many ages. With school starting all over the country, Scholastic DVDs make sense for all these kids getting excited about learning and reading.

Like most kids, my children love playgrounds, jungle gyms and anything they can ride. We have some great outdoor toys that are perfect for fulfilling their wildest climbing and riding games. The problem usually is that these are only outdoor toys and, a lot of times, it takes two to make them fun. I like it because it can be indoor or outdoor because of the size and light weight, it's safely constructed and has padding in the right spots so as not to mess up floors if used indoors and it's something that can be fun even with only one child riding. Really, I've never seen a seesaw or teeter totter that was made to allow one to three children to ride it. With the Rocking Seesaw, two children can ride on either side, a third can join in the middle or a single child can ride in the middle. The combined teeter-totter and rocking chair movements make this toy so much fun and easy for even my three year old to enjoy.
The Rocking Seesaw took about an hour to assemble and we are all incredibly happy with this product from HearthSong. Like all of their other items, it's obvious that children's enjoyment and parents' requirements for what they want in their chid's toys is extremely important to the company. Their shipping is fast and their customer service is extremely helpful. I love HearthSong's easy to browse site and am always impressed by their selection of unique toys, games and other items for children.

We eat a lot of snacks in our house. As a health conscious woman and mom, I love to know that the snacks we are enjoying aren't entirely unhealthy. Did you know that the Scholastic Storybook Treasures DVD series has won more awards than any other contemporary children's video brand? After watching only one of these amazing DVDs, it's easy to see why. My kids have so many of them and they absolutely adore every single one. I love that these DVDs contain such wonderful and beloved stories and really encourage reading. Recently, two new Scholastic Storybook Treasures DVDs were released. I'm sure you all know the stories Goodnight Moon and A Pocket for Corduroy. Baby sign language has become an increasingly popular trend in the last few years. This series of DVDs helps build brain power and literacy skills in children ages 3 to 6. I change purses often. Because I'm a purse junkie, I have tons of different choices and like to give them all fair opportunity. It's nice to clean things out because my purse is usually in quite disarray. Changing purses can be a pain though because of the disarray.
