i heart faces 2-21-11

February 21, 2011
This is my first time to participate with i heart faces. I'm pretty excited and will definitely be linking up with them again. Every week they have a photography challenge. This week is to take a picture with your cell phone.

You know, I'm not really someone that uses my cell camera all that often. Even now with my fancy schmancy new phone and cool apps, I just don't use it that much. For the occasional grammar blunder on something in a store or when it's necessary for me to send a pic of the kids' whackadoo behavior to my sister in law but, other than that, not that often.

So, this was definitely a challenge for me. And fun. Fun because it was something different and I downloaded an awesome app that i heart faces suggested.

And, here's the result.....

Love. Oh, the fun and funkiness is killin' me.

If you want to see more entries to this week's challenge or just see how cool i heart faces is, head over there and check it out!

Happy Monday!!

My long lost love....5QF

February 18, 2011
It's been a while since I joined the lovely little Mama M. for her 5 Question Friday! Hello 5QF, I've missed you.

The questions....
1. Have you worn the same outfit more than one day in a row?
2. If you had to choose any LARGE city to live in, which would it be?
3. Fly or drive with the kids on vacation?
4. What is your idea of "spring cleaning"?
5. What is the best book you have ever read?

1. Have you worn the same outfit more than one day in a row?

Oh most certainly. Isn't that a rite of passage f...

Love is all you need...

February 14, 2011
Happy Valentine's Day!

The school project got finished. Two days before it needed to be!

We may be a family of procrastinators but, when it comes to holidays and gift giving, we have a hard time waiting for the actual day. So, VDay has come early around here. 0007 got his gifts Friday and he showered us with gifts today.

Yes, he totally took my breath away this year. I was so not expecting what he got me. For years I have happily worn my beautiful wedding ring. I've loved it and still do. He ...

Mistakes have been made...and a school project has yet to be

February 10, 2011
I made a big mistake recently.

I let Snappy learn how to play computer games. She loves it. And she's good at it. And the little turd will probably need her own computer soon or I'll never get any work done again.

Not that I've minded so much the last few days. I mean, if she's on my computer it does give me ample time to continue watching Bones, my newest tv show find and obsession. But, truly, the kid is awful at sharing!

My second mistake was letting her realize that my new phone has games ...

Snow, Set-Ups and Snapshots

February 3, 2011
My blogging seems to have fallen low on my to-do list lately. I'm certainly busy but, it's not very exciting stuff. Not boring...just...mundane. It's cleaning and working and rearing unruly children and fretting over the weather. None of which make for exciting blog entries. I hate that I've pawned off so many photo posts as real blog posts but, I'm hoping y'all are enjoying the pics.

We're supposed to have snow here tonight and tomorrow. In South Texas. It hasn't snowed here since TRex's fir...

Senior Portraits

January 26, 2011
I had a senior portrait session this past weekend and it was so much fun. This guy is so laid back and funny and was totally open to all of my ideas. We had a family session with the rest of his fam immediately after (I'll post some from that later). Senior sessions may be my new fave. I love to do families and kids but, there's something about a photo session that is just one person (who's old enough to take directions!). I'm looking forward to a bunch more of these.

3 Month Shoot for a First Year Package

January 21, 2011
At the end of December, I had the 3 month photo shoot of a "Watch Me Grow" First Year package. First, this little guy is adorable. Second, I'm so stinkin' excited to be able to watch his sessions change throughout his first year. He's the first that I've done this first year package with and he's already changed oh so much since his first shoot. For the 3 month, Mom wanted to go with a Christmas theme. And, I have to say, I freakin' love the clothes that Mom picks for this little dude.

Wedding Pictures

January 17, 2011
Toward the end of 2010, we were thrilled to be able to capture the wedding day of this awesome couple. This is a family my husband has known for a long time and the love between them all is so evident by how much total fun they have together. It was a good 'ol fashioned southern wedding with lots of cowboy hats, boots, booze and down home fun! I personally loved the use of Willow Tree angels on the cake and the touch of winter theme in the decor. Wedding photography is so fun because of the ...

Random Ramblings 1-12-11

January 12, 2011
There's no school next Monday. I've been reminding myself every day. I'll probably put sticky notes throughout the house this weekend.

Are my dogs like my kids or are my kids like my dogs because they all seem to enjoy tearing stuff up. My yard looks like a disaster zone. Gave the dogs an old comforter since it's been cold recently. Shit heads tore it open and pulled out most of the stuffing. Smart move, dogs! I'm sure the random pieces of stuffing throughout the yard will keep you quite warm...

Not my first choice for how to start a week....

January 3, 2011
Monday. Blah. They used to not bother me. When I was a stay at home mom of two kids and had no real schedule, Mondays only meant that 0007 had to return to work. Now that one of those kids is in school, it means that I have to do one of the things I hate the most.

Get.up.early.

courtesy of google images

So, after 2 weeks off of school, two weeks of sleeping in, two weeks of bickering between the kids all day long, the first Monday of 2011 arrived and I was reluctant to get up but, glad to get ...
